What is tylose?
HEC tylose or hydroxyethyl cellulose is one of the most widely used chemicals that is sold in different grades and its main role is in the hardening industry.
In fact, tylose is obtained from raw cotton, and during this process, a white powder material with grades 4000, 6000, 20000 and 100000 is produced.
Note that this product has the ability to dissolve in water, and the higher the grade number, the faster it dissolves in water. Currently, grades 4000 and 100000 are among the most widely used samples in the country’s market.
Tylose powder is actually a cellulose thickening polymer that will become flexible and sticky if exposed to heat.
Production of glue, paint and coating
The main application of tylose in the industry is in the production of paint, which is added as a thickener and filler to paints and also increases the covering property of latex paints.
Several reasons have made tylose a very important component in the dye industry; Because adding it to the color adjusts the consistency and creates a high covering power and connection; Also, by maintaining and retaining water, it creates more adhesive power to the underlying layers, which prevents the paint from cracking.
Since when applying paint, the material must be completely uniform with high covering power, tylose is needed; Because this substance has a high filling property and this causes the reduction of other pigments, which is very economical.
The filling property of this substance has made it used in glue making, which changes all the mechanical properties of the glue. This product makes the glue last longer and with its ability to conduct heat, it delays the risk of fire.
Rubber and tire industry
Since it has the properties of adhesion and compatibility with all kinds of compounds and chemicals over the course of days, it can be said that it is also used in the rubber industry, which increases the strength of tires and makes them more resistant to wear.
