Glycerin, which has an edible and health aspect, is a vegetable type that is naturally extracted from soybean and coconut oil, but industrial glycerin is a type of active alcohol that has the ability to dissolve in water and ethanol, but does not dissolve in benzene or ether. 

Industrial grades of glycerine are used in the production of paints and resins, especially alkyd resins, usually first-grade glycerines act as a softening agent in the resin, on the other hand, they are used in the production of stainless paints and matte paints.

It is also used as a filler that makes the color surfaces even, on the other hand, it is a suitable solvent for mixing the pigments together, which keeps the colors stable in different conditions and because The substance is not toxic, the colors obtained from this product do not harm people and the environment.

Alkyd resins are industrial coatings where using glycerin can have many advantages and increases the flexibility of the resin; On the other hand, it causes the formation of a water-resistant ester in rosin, which is the same as rosin resin.

Other industrial applications of this product can be mentioned as a softener and lubricant in the production of rubber and plastics. It is also used in the production of detergents in the military industry to produce dynamite in tool lubrication.

Pharmaceutical, food and health grades are used to produce softening and moisturizing materials for skin and hair and are used in medical prescriptions for vasodilator drugs, digestive and ophthalmic drugs. Also, glycerin has a sweet taste and is often used as a sweetener in the food industry in making fondant.
