DOP or dioctyl phthalate oil is one of the most widely used oils in the rubber industry and various industries. In fact, this product is an important softener of PVC granules, which, in addition to rubber production, is widely used in plastic production, glue production, artificial leather, cable production, toy production, hose production, etc.
This oil has a viscous liquid state that cannot be dissolved in water; But it dissolves in oils, it also has high plastic properties and is very resistant to sunlight and heat due to its high stability, and this feature has made it widely used in the rubber industry, which is used as a plasticizer.
This plasticizer helps to strengthen the adhesion of elastomers, besides, it facilitates the process of adding materials such as carbon black in rubber making.
Currently, in terms of cost-effectiveness, it is the best solvent for known chemicals that most natural and synthetic rubbers are obtained from this material and it has a significant contribution to the softening properties of all kinds of elastomers, and the addition of this softening material helps different rubbers to have a lot of flexibility so that they are resistant to temperature after curing.
It also helps the materials stick more, and glues based on (DOP) have a lot of stickiness. Adhesives such as polyurethane adhesive, wood adhesive and parquet are among these examples, and on the other hand, they are also used in the production of coating and fiber resins.
This oil is also used as a raw material for dyeing and softens colors and spreads them better. It is also interesting to know that this product is produced in a two-step process and when phthalic anhydride reacts with diethylhexanol in the presence of a catalyst at high temperature, this widely used oil is produced.
This oil is used in the production of most medical equipment, which can be mentioned in blood bags and dialysis bags. This product has the property of being hydrophobic and non-conductive, it is resistant to wear and corrosion, and it also shows good durability against climate changes, but please note that this substance is a dangerous chemical substance, and if it enters the sewers in nature, it will be dangerous for the human environment.
DOP oil is both imported and domestically produced and is sold in two types, and most of these products are available to applicants in 200 kg barrels.
