Definition:
Hardener is used in two forms in construction, one of which is as a reactive and hardening component in two-component resin products such as epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea. Another is referred to a material when applied to surfaces such as parking floors and warehouses, it increases the strength of the surface. This type of hardener is available in powder and liquid form.
In other words, epoxy, whether for flooring or paint, has hardeners that can be aromatic polyamine, sycloaliphatic polyamine, or polyamide.
Polyamide is obtained by combining amine and acid. The polyamide itself is based on thermoplastic materials. It is used to prevent gas penetration. Polyamide hardener is more resistant to water and moisture. Therefore, in wet environments or heavy rainfall, the use of polyamide epoxy is recommended. Polyamide epoxy paints are available in several types: glossy, semi-gloss and matte. They are flexible.
