Nonylphenol Ethoxylate also known as NPE, is the primary ingredient of detergents, including soaps, which has great cleaning power. Nonylphenol Ethoxylate is produced in different grades and is placed in the category of nonylphenols. The production process of this product is that if two substances nonylphenol and ethylene oxide react in the presence of a catalyst such as potassium hydroxide, nonylphenol ethoxylate is produced in different grades and types by changing the catalysts.

Uses of Nonylphenol Ethoxylate

The number of ethylene oxide of this product shows the degree of its composition and dissolution. If this number is from one to five, it has the ability to dissolve in oils, but it is not soluble in water, and if it is more than 5, this reaction will have the opposite result.

It is necessary to know that this product does not have any corrosive properties and is used as an emulsifier and a moisturizing agent in the detergent. Nonylphenol Ethoxylate is used in household cleaners and in various detergents such as surface cleaners, hand powder and dishwashing liquid, which removes any type of grease and pollution from surfaces.

This substance is the most important constituent of detergents or the composition of surfactants, which as an active substance can give a lot of foaming and cleaning properties to detergents and removes any kind of rust, deposits and water hardness.

This material is produced in grades 6, 10, 20 and 40, and each of these grades is specific to different uses:

• Nonylphenol Ethoxylate Grade 6 has a clear liquid state, which is used in the production of detergents, industrial degreasers, fertilizers and adhesives.
• Nonylphenol Ethoxylate Grade 10 has a high cleaning power, therefore most detergents are based on this substance, and it also plays the role of emulsion in metal plating.
• Nonylphenol Ethoxylate Grade 20 is used in washing raw wool because it does not harm its texture and removes any type of pollution. Therefore, it is also used as a bleaching agent in the production of textiles.
• Nonylphenol Ethoxylate with grade 40 is the highest grade of this material, it has a wax-like solid form and is used as a stabilizer in the production of detergents and in the agricultural industry.

As we mentioned above, these products are sold in liquid and solid form, and most of the sold packages are 220-liter barrels, which are mainly used in petrochemical, detergent and cleaning industries, pharmaceutical industries, metal production, food industry, paint and coatings.

These products are often imported, which of course are produced in our country in Shazand Petrochemical and are provided to the mentioned industries with the mentioned grades.
