This phenomenon is due to the presence of substances such as surfactants, which is undesirable and if the foam is not controlled during production, it will lead to the loss of gloss and transparency of the color, as well as the overflow of materials from the containers.

In general, creating foam is an unwanted act in the production of paint and coatings; But to prevent this phenomenon and increase the quality level Silicone Anti Foam is used.

Anti Foam properties

Most anti-foam is obtained from materials such as fatty acid, polydimethylsiloxane, and aqueous polymer emulsion and is sold in packages of 50-200 kg barrels. It is necessary to know that this product is divided into two grades, industrial and edible, and industrial Anti Foam have three categories: non-silicone Anti Foam, silicone Anti Foam, and alcohol Anti Foam.

Non-silicone Anti Foam is based on vegetable and petroleum oils that are silicone-free. Silicone Anti Foam, as their name suggests, their structure consists of silicone oils.

Alcoholic Anti Foam and its oils are water-based, and its oil is a long chain of fatty acid esters and soaps. This material is used in both powder and liquid form based on its type.

Uses of Anti Foam

The performance of Anti Foam depends on the type of foam. foam is created when the molecules are dissolved in a liquid and are seen as a surface-active substance. In a simple operation, anti-foams prevent air blockages from expanding and by penetrating the foam layers, they remove the foam created in the paint well.

The use of this product has many properties, all of which have made the product widely used in various industries, among these properties, the following can be mentioned:

• Anti-foams have the property of being hydrophobic.
• As a lubricant, it has high lubrication properties.
• It is stable in extreme pressures such as drilling operations.
• It also shows high resistance to oxidation and heat.
• It has the ability to dissolve in petroleum-based solvents and does not mix in crude oil.

It is necessary to know that these materials are very compatible with the environment and by defoaming and breaking the bubbles, it can improve the paint surface because all the paint bubbles are destroyed, and this type of uniform coating is created.
